If you love to write, help us write a poem within our community! Be the first to create our first community poem here at Poets Word. Add your lines to the poem by putting them in the “leave a comment” section. I then will add the lines as we go. Once the poem is finished, I will post the poem here at the blog. Perhaps we can get a collection of community created poems listed here.(NOTE: To those who help contribute to the poem, I will personally mail you each a copy of the poem with your name listed as one of the authors. I will also include the poem in my next published book of poems along with your byline. )Create your lines from the poem started below:
THANKSGIVING POEM…
…
At the table of Thanksgiving,
Family gathers ’round….
To give thanks and their blessing,
as they bow their heads down.
Singing praises
to the heavens above
sharing this feast
with ones they love.

1st Community Created Poem:…
Heartbroken:
Into the darkness, I wept, so one could hear my tears.
My soul is forever broken.
Pieces that can never be repaired,
a hole that has been shattered into a million slivers.
Longing for the touch of the one I loved,
Whom I will never see again.

Where art thou slurpee?
so one could hear my tears
My soul forever broken.
Pieces that can never be repaired,
a whole that has been shattered into a million slivers.
Longing for the touch of the one I loved
whom I will never see again
I am consumed by my slurpees’ consumption
all that is left is but this straw
My soul forever broken
But wait… can it be fixed by this corn-dawg?
Actually I would not push this one any further.
It comes to a decent conclusion as is.
Maybe time to start a new one.

Family gathers ’round

Thanksgiving Poem

Thanksgiving poem
Singing praises
to the heavens above
sharing this feast
with ones they love
Remembering the little things so often we disdain,
The air we breathe and the life we live the entire human frame.
Life itself retains its beauty with all its joys and pains,
For what more is sadness than freedom from its chains?
I just don’t think I can follow number 13! It is more like an ending. But I am happy to play along if others can find another line to the Thanksgiving Poem.

Hm. Well, on the Thanksgiving one…
The turkey is charred, the pie underdone,
but nobody cares ’cause they’re having such fun.
Yeah, I know, it’s kind of lame.
Letting go all differences
thouigh we have to be with each other though thick and thin
When the world let us go
will always have our family to the end
Our watery mouth cant wait to savage the perfect meals
Many more thanksgiving to share with through the years
i see you in the sky
i feel you in my heart
can’t you tell i miss you alot
my dad really misses you
and thinks about you almost everyday
i think you are really nice in every way
i see you in my dreams calling me…
i feel like your telling something
please tell me please
i feel like your watching me
please show me a sign
if you do i’ll make sure i read them all the time
every body says that your the best
and you shall rest
its the best for you
everybody says they see your soul
but i have never seen you in that way
please vist in my dreams everday
but in the most decentful way…i love you in your every way
