ONE LAST CHANCE OF FALL

Published by lilairthepoet at 1:20 pm under Poems Edit This

Steaming hot chocolate with fluffy white marshmallows. Energetic children playing in the leaves shouting out hellos to those who walk by smiling at their youthfulness. There’s a weathering change in the air…Crisp coolness can be felt upon your cheeks everywhere. Squirrels frolicking through the grass, storing up nuts For the upcoming winter.

ONE LAST CHANCE OF FALL

…Sun shines through the colorful rainbow of leaves.

Oranges, greens, yellows, tans, and reds.

They are spread out like a colored painting from make believe…

….

The walkers of the day are dressed in their light autumn jackets,

whisking their hands for warmth in their pockets,

as they walk their daily routes.

Autumn is a change in the season,

and the last hurrah before the chilly cold winter…

Bring out the rakes to gather a pile of leaf jumping fun,

and become a young child again in a pile of colorful delight.

Feel the chill against your cheeks on those old fashioned hay rides,

and laugh like tomorrow is years away.

Autumn is the season of change-

One last chance to feel the warmth before the chill of the winter freezes it away.

One last chance for that lasting romantic walk as dusk sets in.

A time for memories,

and memories to be made

in the falling dancing leaves of fall’s last breath of life.
