FALL MEMORIES

Gathered by a sparking and smokey fire,
roasting my marshmallow smores.
….
Singing campfire songs, and sharing family stories
of those long times ago with the ones I love.
…
Wrapped in a favorite snuggled blanket along with
an old patterned flannel shirt,
I shiver, as the late autumn chill tickles my cold rosy cheeks.
…
The leaves in the trees rustling in the wind,
as we prepare for an old fashioned hay ride.
Children laughing and giggling as we pass the cars out on the roadways.
A trip into the country brings fear as older ones spook them with stories of old time haunts.
…
Warm fresh and hot apple cider is passed as everyone tries to warm from
the cool fall air.
The moon above shines high in the sky as it prepares for the next harvest.
…
Autumn is a magical time of year with the changing of the colored leaves.
It’s one last hurrah and time for nostalgia before the brutal and harsh winter sets in
to leave us locked away under the blankets in our home.
…
One last outdoor escape,
one last dancing fall leave spitting from the tree…
One last fall memory,
to imprint it’s story
in my heart.
